美聯冠軍戰第2戰，雙方開賽就展現你來我往的攻勢、互不相讓，不過印地安人昨天的英雄Francisco Lindor在今天3局下右敲出超前安打，幫助球隊目前3局打完以2：1領先。

2局下印地安人隊率先展開攻勢，該局首名打者Calors Santana面對藍鳥先發J.A. Happ，在一好一壞後抓中對方的速球轟出全壘打，幫助印地安人連2場比賽都先得到分數。

3局上藍鳥立刻展開回擊，Darwin Barney在一出局後，敲出安打上壘，並靠著Ezequiel Carrera的滾地球推進到二壘，接著季後賽打擊火燙的Josh Donaldson適時轟出二壘安打，不僅將比數追成1：1，也幫助球隊終結了分區冠軍賽連11局沒得分的窘境。

不過雖然打線終於開胡，但Happ卻沒能守成，3局下一開始就保送了Roberto Perez，下一棒的Rajai Davis險些擊出雙殺打，不過仍然靠腳程站上一壘。Davis一上壘就開始利用速度展開破壞，他先順利地盜上二壘，在靠著Happ地暴投上三壘，這兩次推進對藍鳥造成莫大傷害，因為昨天的敲出致勝全壘打建功的Lindor又在此時敲出中外野安打，讓壘上跑者輕鬆回來，跑回超前分，以2：1領先。
